HEIDI S. MILAM: I have over 15 years experience in handling garnishments, foreclosures, and repossessions in northern Mississippi. I have experience representing creditors in filing garnishments and repossessions. Therefore, I know what they're going to do so I can best represent my debtor clients to prevent those actions.

The biggest mistake that people make is waiting too long to come to my office. Often, I have people who come to my office that have had several paychecks garnished, when if they had come to my office to begin with, they could've stopped the garnishment before it ever started.
When someone comes to my office and they're unsure about filing bankruptcy, I make sure they know that bankruptcy's a personal choice. I take the time to go over their situation to determine if it's best for them to keep their house or other personal items. My ultimate goal is giving clients peace of mind and a chance to build a better life for themselves and their families.
